sing me home

In 2020, after years of dreaming and planning, Chris founded and was part of the team that launched the Sing Me Home Festival, based in his hometown of North Manchester, IN. A collaboration between Chris' band Friends with the Weather and the formative church of his youth, the Manchester Church of the Brethren, Sing He Home holds a mission of: An intergenerational cultural celebration emerging at the crossroads of music, social justice, and spirituality. Serving to restore and inspire the heart, mind, and soul.

In the original proposal for the festival, plans were made to begin booking talent and launching pre-ticket sales as we headed towards our inaugural festival in October 2020. As the COVID-19 crisis firmly took hold across the United States in the early weeks of March 2020, we were inspired to completely reorient this timeline and create an experience unlike anything that we could've imagined even just a couple weeks before by offering an online festival in Spring 2020 that featured more than 35 dynamic musical acts and inspiring speakers.

Sing Me Home is currently in the midst of their first season of in-person programming with the Sing Me Home Fall Festival scheduled for October 8. Chris serves as co-coordinator of Sing Me Home with his longtime collaborator and Friends with the Weather bandmate, Seth Hendricks.
